REVIEW
This interesting Italian 1971 flick by Mario Bava was rejected a cinema release, so it was no surprise that the original Hokushin video release ended up on the nasty list.
The plot surrounds a series of developers, who want to own some land around a bay, cue lots of strange money-related murders. The film opens with the murder of a rich woman in a wheelchair who owns the land. She is strung up, and hanged by the neck, and in a strange twist, her killer, who we believe is her husband who is after her cash, is then immediately murdered by someone else.
As the film gathers pace, a group of youths arrive in the bay for a cocktail of sex, drinking and the like, and Friday the 13th style, people get bumped off one-by-one, including one scene, which was obviously nicked by Friday the 13th, where a pair are having sex in a bed, man-on-top and they get skewered by a spear, which goes through both of them and then through the bed.
A few more nasty killings occur, such as machetes in the face and strangulation by octopus, all surrounding the confusion of who owns the land and who is the rightful heir, climaxing in a strange ending which involves gun shot and two young children running off into the sunset.
