REVIEW
Hershell Gordon Lewis’s legendary 1963 nasty is often thought of as the pioneer of gore films. This particular flick was filmed entirely within one month for under $25,000. It is the earliest entry in the nasty list, and also the shortest film, at 64 minutes.
The story surrounds an Egyptian caterer called Fuad Ramses, a guy with strange bug eyes and big black eyebrows, who spends his time collecting body parts from young women in order to prepare for the ultimate feast of Ishtar, which will bring an ancient goddess of good and evil back to life.
A young woman called Suzette (Connie Mason) with an interest in Egyptian arts, has a party held for her by her mother. As this is an Egyptian themed party, foolishly, the mother gets Ramses, an author, to be the caterer, who tells her that he likes to prepare all of the elements of the “feast” himself. Cue lots of slayings of young women, with each murder being more bizarre and gruesome than the last one.
We near the end, as Ramses has Suzette on his butchering table, machete in hand, when he gets rumbled by the mother. He makes a run for it, followed by some dim-witted cops, to a garbage dump. Here, he hides inside one of the trucks, and is compressed along with all of the other crap in there
