Notorious nasty which spawned the video nasty phenomenon with its graphic illustration of a guy getting a drill pushed into his bonce as blood streams down his face.
The story revolves around a struggling artist called Reno, who lives in a shabby New York apartment with his flatmate Pamela. He is trying to complete his latest painting and the bills are piling up, as we see his demise, he slowly begins to go off his rocker.
When a group of noisy rock groupies move into the flat downstairs, it wrecks his concentration levels even further, so he goes on a bloody rampage with his power drill, murdering a tramp in the street. A few more unfortunate souls meet his foul temper and dodgy rocker as they are dispatched, before an art dealer says one of Reno’s pictures is crap. He responds to this by butchering the art dealer and, later, his flatmate Pamela as well.
By this time, Reno’s girlfriend Carol has had enough and has left him, so he resorts to going round to her ex-husband’s house, killing him, then lying on the bed, waiting for her to come out of the shower. Kinky sod!
Overall, pretty lame stuff, which was only made notorious by its lurid artwork on the front of the video sleeve. They were just asking for trouble by releasing a full-sleeve advert on the back of a magazine!
