REVIEW
Notorious nasty from the director of Cannibal Holocaust. This has been re-released with a whopping 11 MINUTES of cuts to the original Skyline release! David Hess revives his very nasty rapist type bloke character in a similar way to Last House on the Left. Also stars good old John Morghen (aka Giovanni Lombardo Radice) who always turns in a good display in such flicks.
Hess plays Alex. A psychopath who gets his kicks from raping women and sadistically torturing people, which we see in almost the first minute of the film in a nasty rape sequence of a young girl in a car (which becomes symbolic later). Like any good nutter, Alex likes to keep up a steady job. He and his best friend Ricky (Morghen) both work as mechanics in a garage, where they spend their days waiting to go out at night and boogie! Look out for Alex’s funky `70s disco gear!
As they are gearing up for a night on the town though, a car with two wealthy young people pull up. The young man driving the car puts some pressure on Alex to help him get his car fixed, so Ricky steps in and takes care of the problem. The young driver fills us in that he is heading to a small 'get together' at a close friend's house, so Alex being the gentleman he is, invites both himself and Ricky to tag along.
Alex is eyeing the young girl (Annie Belle of Absurd fame) in the car, and Ricky is almost borderline retarded. So they show up at the party, and the young girl from the car keeps teasing Alex sexually until he gets furious. The group taunts Ricky, making him dance for them and eventually humiliating him at poker. Annie Belle continues to tease Alex and gets all soapy in a nice shower scene (until he joins in!) and then he flips and terrorises the posh hosts.
Later on, we see Alex rape Annie Belle, the young man getting his face smashed into a table, Ricky rape a young girl outside and the notorious scene, where Alex opens the door to a pretty blonde, strips her, throws her on the sofa, and carves his name across her naked body with a slit-throat razor. A strange ending, involving pissing on people in the outdoor swimming pool, concludes the film as Alex is shot and ends up floating arse-up in the pool. We find out at the end that his killing was a result of the young girl he raped at the start of the film being the young man’s sister.
Overall, a pretty nasty flick, which was banned for
the scene with the razor blade slicing up the young blonde, and also a strange
turn when Ricky rapes the woman (strangely enough, his co-star in Cannibal
Ferox) outside, she appears to be enjoying it!
