REVIEW
Actually, not a bad horror film for its time – quite entertaining and well acted in places. Released on the Medusa label in 1981.
The story surrounds a young woman, Julia, who is a teacher in a deaf kids’ school. OK, nothing wrong with that – although she does have a hideously deformed twin sister who resides in the local nuthouse.
The start of the film is a little dreary, as we see Julia (Trish Everly) going about her normal business in and out of the school. The meat of the film comes into play when Julia has a surprise birthday party with all of her mates, and her sister escapes from the looney bin, accompanied by her “rather large” killer Alsatian dog.
The dog is a refreshing change from the usual suspects of such banned nasties,
as it goes around in a terrifying fashion, along with the nutty sister, butchering
the party guests in quite a cheesy manner. The dog meets a grisly death in
the end, as it gets a power-drill through its head, which is ultimately why
the flick made the banned list. Shame on you animal lovers out there.
