A television broadcast of believable sex and violence seduces it`s viewers and starts to control their minds. Featuring a kinky hostess (Rock star Debbie Harry from the band Blondie), who is very sexual, and a cable programmer (James Wood), who is looking for the ultimate in viewing thrills, Videodrome is a scientific nightmare where video can control and alter human life in the real world. Over all this film is pretty fucked up, especially at the end, and the film is shot and plotted in the usual tripped out Cronenberg stylee. The special effects are very good, especially the splitting head part, and were created by Rick Baker who also created the special effects in "An American Werewolf in London" and "Star Wars".
