The banned nastie reach cult status in the early eighties when our beloved government decided that certain videos were just too scary and too influential to watch. There was a mad panic as video venders surrendered and even burnt there stock to avoid being busted by the old bill for carrying such outrageous parifinalia. Some videos however escaped being captured and have become highly collectable.

In 1982 a vivid and gory add on the back page of "Television and Video Retailer" for Driller Killer caused the first rumblings of the nastie phenomena and it changed the face of the U.K. video industry for ever and brought about censorship. The government then banned a load of films which soon became a buying guide for the horror video collector.
